Product details software can read
R1.2Can an agent read a product and its price without a browser?
- Why it matters
- AI agents read data, not layout. Without it, they have to guess what you sell and what it costs.
- What Lens looks for
- We looked on up to three product pages, or your home page, for product data written for software.

Can an agent find and read what is sold?
The definition
- Definition
- A product an agent can read is one with a
nameand an offer whose price and currency it can read, in the HTML as served (no script executed): a node of the schema.org Product family, any typed node whoseofferscarries anOffer(aBook,Event,Course,Service,SoftwareApplicationand the like), or an offer'sitemOffered, in JSON-LD (with@idreferences in a@graphfollowed), microdata or RDFa; aProductGroup's variants and anItemPage'smainEntityincluded. Open Graph'sproduct:price:amountandproduct:price:currencywith anog:titleare a product too. The price is a non-negative decimal with no currency symbol, thousands separator, sign or trailing unit, as schema.org requires (price, priceSpecification.price, or anAggregateOffer'slowPrice); zero is a readable price. The currency is a three-letter alphabetic code, ISO 4217's form, in any case, or a token ticker schema.org admits, such asUSDCorHBAR.call us,POA,$19.99andDOLLARSare prose an agent would have to parse. The pages read are up toproductPages(3) product pages, found from the URL given, the catalog endpoints, the UCP answer, the sitemap and the home page's links whose paths are the platform's product pages. - Passes when
- A sampled product page (or the home page, when no product page is found) is not a refusal and carries a product an agent can read; or a route of R1.3 or R1.4 is met. A page cut at
bodyCapBytes(4194304) with no product in what was read is inconclusive. A page that names a product in markup without structured data is not met, and the result says a script probably assembles it. A route in lists.routes listed for this rung, or for a higher rung of the same dimension, meets it; the result names the route. - Decided by
